Hotel Guest Reviews of the Helix, A Kimpton Hotel
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.May 10, 2013

Good value for a centrally located hotel. Our first visit to D.C. so most convenient for sightseeing. There was a bit of a walk to the metro station but we then discovered the awesome bike share program (highly recommend). Also there is the $1 Circulator bus which is a great deal and it is at the end of the street! Nice having a Whole Foods store on the very next street. Hotel was comfortable - our room was quiet and wonderful to have a fridge. My suggestion would be to provide kettles in the room. Most hotels in Europe have tea and coffee making facilities and I would suggest this. Staff friendly and helpful and we were very pleased with our recent 1 week stay. ...

Served it's function, location was what we needed, amenities OK, little less than expected from 3 star place. Didn't use any facilities, like restauurant, so can't comment.

We loved our stay. The hotel had a very comfortable room and bed. It was quiet and close to all the local sites. We took advantage of the guest happy hour and enjoyed our beverages on their outside patio. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It is wonderfully situated in the hip 14th avenue area, close to great local bars and restaurants. Also, easy walking to the Smithsonian and the White House. We'd highly recommend this hotel and we'd stay here again. ...

I would definitely recommend this hotel. Located on a beautiful street and close to lots of neat restaurants. Around the corner from Whole Foods. Staff is very attentive and helpful.

The lobby is the smallest I have ever seen, it has three large steps that you have to drag your luggage up (no way to avoid the stairs). I have no idea how they got a 3 star rating, it is a 2. The mini frig did not work and was dirty and we were moved to another room. The vallet parking at $48 (w/tax) a night damaged my vehicle and their insurance still has not settled the claim (2 weeks later). Over all experience was not to go back. If I do I stay in hotel I am familiar with and no more Express deal through Priceline ever again for me or my traveling companion. ...

This was a solid 3-star hotel. The funky design may turn some people off but I liked it. It's pet friendly and we saw a lot of dogs but we didn't have any problems with that. For a boutique hotel, there were quite a few families which was surprising. My guess is the funky design, location, and affordable rates is drawing them. It has a nice indoor and outdoor bar area. I'd stay here again. ...

the hotel is on a residental street. no parking. must pay for valet $49.82 with taxes (one night), getting your car from valet can take up to an hour. The hotel has a cool vibe, but it is not very clean. Our shower was covered in mold. dirty hand prints on the walls. no duvet covers, the comforter was wrapped in two sheets.
