Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hilton Cartagena
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.April 20, 2013

Overall this really is a nice hotel. Some of the nicest staff I've interacted with at a hotel. They take your security seriously, so be ready (not a bad thing). There have been recent improvements in the guest areas and you can tell. The linens were fresh but the beds themselves may be a bit old (odd smell). By American standards, it's not quite a 5-star resort level place but definitely 4. It's difficult to grab a late night snack but room service is always there. Always a cab on hand, so transportation was no issue. I didn't feel particularly unsafe at any time in or around the hotel, but I grew up in a rough neighborhood, so maybe that's just me. The local vendors can spot foreigners quick and many speak some English, so be ready. I also went during peak travel season (Easter, 2013), so I won't comment about the room rates as they were likely adjusted heavily upward given the timing. Overall, good experience, nice place, nice amenities. Would I stay again, if the rates are less than
XXX or so per night...definitely! ...

Great place to stay. Definitely go for the Executive Lounge rooms so you won't have to buy breakfast and dinner at the pricy restaurants. We saved a lot of money upgrading to an Executive Room. Chrystian was great to work with and all the staff was exceedingly friendly, though we wished they all spoke good English. Beds and pillows were AMAZING and the view was excellent.
