Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.May 8, 2013

Some rooms are on the smaller side. Last stay I almost had a playground in my room, this stay it was a very small room that barely fit the two double beds. Bathroom was small as well.

I really enjoyed the hotel. Upon arrival they asked my preference for the room type I had booked. I requested something quiet becasue I had work I needed to focus on. They gave me a nice room on the 19th floor far from the elevators and ice machine, which was perfect. The room had a small refrigerator, which I used, and everything else I needed. The only complaint was the small bathroom, which is not a big deal, just annoying that there was no counter space or even toilet tank lid to put my toiletries on while I got ready. However, this is a historic hotel (updated beautifully)and I think they just updated this bathroom in keeping with the overall vibe of the hotel. I am pretty sure there are rooms with larger bathrooms. The other thing I found nice was the the hotel was connected with a small shopping and eating area/concourse (which included a TJ Maxx) so I did not need to go outside if I needed anything which can be a plus. The downtown area was very compact and it is across from shopping (macy's) and beside a Saks Fifth Avenue. It was very close to the federal courthouse, just a very short block up. Lots of food options very close by if you wanted that as well. Seemed like a safe area. ...

The valet is $25, which would be fine if the quality of the accommodations was a little higher considering what you pay for a room per night. Check-in was pretty seamless. I recommend signing up for the Hilton Rewards program (it's free) for the express check-in line and the complimentary water bottle in the room. Our room had a nice view of the river but it was terribly small. Just not what I expect from a Hilton, even given the art-deco nature of this location. ...

The room is very disapointing even at the priceline bid price I felt I over paid, this property is nowhere near 4 stars, it is 3 stars at best. I am very disapointed with Priceline because I am sure you are aware of this and yet you offer it to your customers as a superior value.

I think this hotel was an excellent place to stay but (as mentioned previously) the staff could use some customer service training. We were there to attend graduation at the University of Cincinnati, and it was an easy drive up Vine Street. I cannot gush enough about the ambiance of this hotel. It feels as though you are stepping back in time, but in a good way! Absolutely gorgeous interior with frescos, art deco detailing, marble everywhere, etc. The bar area offered music and dancing in the evening. ...

The Netherland Plaza is a stunning building in an excellent location, with an excellent, helpful, and caring staff. But the rooms, in particular, are beginning to show their age; this hotel is now on the low side of four stars. The exercise room (it's also a gym for downtown workers) is enormous and well-stocked, though the machines curiously do not include their own TVs.We did not eat at the restaurant, but it is reputed to be among the best in town. The bar, which is in the same room, is well-stocked and absolutely gorgeous. And finally, I cannot praise the staff enough. They don't just go the extra mile for you, they run an entire marathon -- without breaking a sweat. ...
