Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hilton New Orleans Riverside

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Location was great and staff was pretty good.
This is not a 4 star hotel. They charge 4, even 5 star prices with $11 glasses of wine and $3 sodas in the machine. The soda machine on my floor only took quarters. Do you carry that many quarters? Ridiculous! Not 4 stars.

I only stay in 4 star hotels via priceline and I've grown accustom to certain things and think of them as standard. Usually there is turn down service and robes. There was neither. No mini bar or complimentary water and the soda machine only took quarters... $3 worth of quarters. I had requested a room with two beds and they gave me a room with ONE bed. I had to switch rooms after the second night of being woken up by a 6am alarm in a nearby room that I think was empty. The second room wasn't upgraded with the nice make up mirror and lighting that I'm used to. Overall the rooms had cheap renovations, not even swapping out the 1970's pressure balancing valve/trim. This is a SURE sign of a poor renovation and the gunk under the sink/top was just gross. They had no happy hour for guests and even charged $11 for an inexpensive small glass of wine. So they definitely THINK they are a four star hotel. They are not though. Definitely a great 3 star. My expectations would have been less. Actually... I would not have stayed there. The water issue was the most irritating. Make sure guests have access to water without needing 12 quarters or having to go to the lobby to purchase water. Make me feel like a valued customer. I almost felt that they gave the 'priceline' customer with the cheaper rates the crappier rooms. ...read more

Good location, riverfront trolley stop at the hotel. Across the street from the casino. walkable to the French quarter. free upgrade to a jr suite Concierge was helpful with trolley route and fares.
booked 2 rooms, only 1 upgraded. Hotel bar closes at midnight.

Surprisingly quiet for the location, riverfront and the casino. The trolley stop at the hotel will take you to Jackson Square, café du monde $3 for all day unlimited trips, includes all trolleys.

Honestly there was little I liked about the hotel, other than the adjoining room with my friends.
When we arrived the check in process took over 30 minutes, with the hotel claiming that Priceline showed I cancelled my reservation when I did no such thing. They wouldn't take the time to listen to anything and ignored us most of the time.

Honestly I would rather stay closer to the French Quarter and get more bang for my buck somewhere else. I loved the Inn on Bourbon where I had stayed the prior year. 2 nights cost me xxx and it wasn't worth it.

Other guests were fairly noisy.

After entering the room, it was clear that the room had not been cleaned since the last guest had left. However, I must credit the staff for working fairly quickly to get me into another room. The ground floor and lobby stay fairly noisy since there is a very popular restaurant there, and be warned, parking is $80 for less than 48 hrs. All-in-all, the hotel is as expected for its star-level, price, and location. ...read more

Right on the Mississippi river and easy access to the Street line. Nice and quiet to sleep.
Internet access was approved when my daughter tried to access it. She is under 18. I was charged for it even though I had no idea. I was not happy about that.

This hotel was really nice. The employees were great and very helpful. Parking was a little steep but all in all easy in and out. The street cars access is excellent. Great for families since it is a bit quieter than the French Quarter. Would stay again.

Location!
Cleaning the hallway of room service trays took more than 12 hours, room wasn't serviced until after 4:00PM and a phone call!

Although the room was not serviced timely and room service was not picked up timely, the Hilton met my needs and my trip was delightful. The bar staff was pleasant and charming. Check in and out was efficient.

The room was spacious, the staff was helpful and the hotel was right next to a streetcar stop.
Hotel room bathroom wasn't the cleanest.
