Hotel Guest Reviews of the Historic Tavernier Inn Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Location
Pretty old, very basic, mold in bathroom (could use a little bleach). Filters needed cleaning on AC but when staff saw me cleaning the filter they took over and did a good job.

Expected a little more for the money.......

The only thing I like about the Inn was the location, beside that terrible....I couldn't even find staff @ the front...
The Staff was nowhere to be seen, The rooms need to enlarged or the prices lowered.

If you need a room in a SERIUOS JAM then this is the place, If not invest and go somewhere else.

The room we got was a shoebox. Way too small and very dated. The hotel needs some serious renovations.

I would not recommend this place at all.

Good Location
Very old and I can smell the dirt in the air.

Not quite cheap, although it is cheaper than other hotels on keys. The room is OK but very dirty. I can smell the dirt around the room. The window works bad. Everyone outside of my room can see me very well. It's hard for me to go asleep at that night. I'll never book the hotel again.

I expected to have a mold free hotel that doesn't have leaky window units. I have learned to research more on my own. I had to sit on the commode sideways, only one accessible outlet in entire room. I would only recommend for one day. Next time I am in the area I will spend the extra $20 for a better hotel.

It had 2 beds (smelled like smoke, but they were beds, and I like to sleep in a bed.
Smokey, dirty, dark, poorly maintained, a dump like you would not believe.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in ever. I usually stay in budget hotels (Motel 6, Budget Inn, Quality Inn) and travel 30 weeks a year. The Tavernier had no hotel staff on site, left my key in a lounge area (the lobby was closed), and had an answering machine when I called (I had to call an emergency number that I noticed when searching for some way into the hotel. What a disgrace! ...read more

It is a quaint, boutique inn good for an overnight stay.

I booked this hotel for the evening before a hospital procedure, and did it with some trepidation after reading the posted reviews. Yes, the bathroom is small, but adequate and clean. I would not recommend it for an obese person. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the AC worked great and so did the TV. There is free WiFi in the room, but no desk so I would not recommend it for someone who needs to conduct business out of the room. I would stay there again. ...read more

Cute 50's style
The common areas smelled horrible, but the room smelled fine.

We got this hotel last minute, at the beginning of a holiday weekend. We arrived around 8, so the key had been left for us. We stayed one night. The room was tiny, but cute, and although the room smelled fine, the common areas smelled terrible. The housekeeper had missed some garbage, and had not put the room back together all the way from prior guests. It was fine though, nothing too bad. But, when I went to return the key in the morning, the office was littered with dog toys, the innkeeper's dog nearly bit me, and she didn't even get out of her chair to deal with the issue. I'm a dog owner myself, and that was unforgivable. Very scary! I wouldn't go back to that place again. ...read more
