It was very clean and upscale. The staff was very nice and gave us coupons for free breakfast. The breakfast was fantastic! It was a huge full buffet with a lot of choices.

Overall, it was excellent. The rooms looked to be fairly new or renovated. Pool area was nice, the pool was a bit old but OK. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and we really enjoyed it. The only complaint was for a lunch we ordered, the waiter forgot to turn in our order and we waited over 45 minutes and then had to ask another waiter about our lunch. The ticket was put with a group of ladies that play bridge and have lunch, and was not placed. The waiter did not seem to notice and finally after we had eaten he said for us to "come find home when we want to pay since he sometimes forgets the tables out in the atrium" We were not very impressed with him,to say the least. The waitresses for the breakfast buffet were fantastic and very attentive.

Breakfast was not included in the price. Discount coupon given. Breakfast was tasteless, luke warm buffet. Coffee was good. Forced to park in the back of hotel, because of an event that was going on at the hotel. Had to haul luggage and walk in the rain to front entrance to check in. Over night guest should have been allowed to park in the front. Those attending the party who had valet parking should have had their cars parked in the back allowing overnight guest front parking. ...

Hotel staff very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Hotel was clean, beautiful, but a little pricey. Still, the staff makes up for it, just wish I had more amount
to stay here more often.

I would stay at this Holiday Inn if I were to visit East Alton Illinois again. It's very clean, and the staff are very friendly. By the way about 4 years ago we were in East Alton Illinois for a wedding, and we stayed at this same hotel.
