Hotel Guest Reviews of the Holiday Inn Edinburgh
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.October 14, 2012

Not at the airport. This one is a 12 cab ride from the airport. We were furious that we had left our very lovely Edinburgh hotel so that we could be close to the airport for an early morning flight. It was a complete waste of time. It would have cost us less to stay in Edinburgh and take one taxi ride to the airport.

When we got there we were assigned to a smoking area with two smoking rooms. When my partner complained (she is asthmatic and found it hard to breathe) we were told - they were no other rooms.

I wrote the address down for this hotel when I was notified of the award. The address ended up being incorrect. All I can say is thank goodness for friendly Scots! It took me over an hour to find out where I was supposed to be. I dropped a friend off at his hotel in Musselburgh and headed over to Corstorphine to the Holiday Inn. At first I didn't go far enough down the street to find the hotel. I went to the Shell gas station and a woman told me I hadn't gone far enough done the road. I headed back out and found the hotel. It was not marked as being the City - West hotel on the road signage so I went to the desk and showed the desk clerk the address I had written down. She told me I was not at the right Holiday Inn and after asking two times for directions gave me very poor directions to Queensferry Road. I headed off to the other Holiday Inn and passed by a Best Western near Queensferry Road. Queensferry Road is not well marked and it twists and turns and branches off in many directions. After driving for 30 minutes, I went back to the Best Western to ask for directions. The desk clerk there printed off a map of the Holiday Inn's location and gave me very precise directions. I had gone one direction on a Y and the hotel was on the other part of the Y. I found the hotel, unpacked my car and headed in only to find out I was not in the right place! The clerk told me that the address I had was parts of two different Holiday Inns and that I needed to be at the one I had gone to first! The clerk called the hotel to confirm my reservation and asked why I had been told I was at the wrong hotel when I went there first. She was told that no one had come to the hotel checking to see if it was the right location. Needless to say, I feel bad. I went back to the other Holiday Inn and was checked in by the same clerk who told me I was not at the right hotel without a word being said about the run around I had been given on her part.

Incredibly friendly staff greet you and take care of your every need. Excellent location for Zoo and catching bus to city center. Great breakfast but price adds up for a family. Incredible internet access charges. Most hotels of this quality offer free or close to free access. 2 days access at this location came to nearly $40.

This hotel wasn't as nice as we had hoped it would be and was not as close to the airport as we would have liked.

nice exterior.
I have no idea why this hotel got 4 stars. The room was tiny and poorly maintained, the mattresses lumpy, and the bathroom inhabited by two large winged insects. The front desk staff was unhelpful and short on patience. Oh, and the Internet costs £16 per 24 hours. Location was convenient to buses, but definitely not a four star hotel. Very disappointed.
