Hotel Guest Reviews of the Holiday Inn Express Fishermans Wharf

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. The staff was very nice, especially the valets.
Taxes on parking? On $45 a night parking?? Give me a break. Rip off. Also, the free breakfast? Well, you get what you pay for...powdered eggs are gross.

It's tough to figure out where this hotel is in relation to the Holiday Inn full service just a block away. You have to follow the signs carefully on North Pointe to the small entrance. Good thing is a Denny's attached, a 24-hour Walgreens a block away, and very close contact to all public transportation. Just a handy block from the Wharf for tourists. The rooms are small-ish, but surprisingly quiet, the staff friendly. One issue - the wireless is ONLY available in the lobby - you have to wire-up in your room. There aren't many TV channel choices, but you're in SF, what are you watching TV for? Only 2 elevators, and one was broken down my last day, so that was a bit of a bother. It's definitely worth the stay. ...read more

Great location.
The parking fee was ridiculous.

Our room was a nice room but not extraordinary. Parking was Valet and very expensive.

Valet parking hampered the ease of access to use our car however public transportation and the hotel's proximity to sights and restaurants eliminated the need for a car.

Love the proximity to the wharf. Short walk to wharf, Ghirardelli Square, and Lombard Street, even our four-year old walked it easily!

Very nice hotel, excellent location one short block from the wharf. Room was surprisingly spacious (especially the bathroom) and clean. Breakfast is good, not simply a donut and banana and cereal like some hotels I've stayed in with "free breakfast." Would definitely stay again.

Location
The rooms were smaller than I thought they would be

The Location was the best thing about this hotel. @ blocks from Fisherman's Wharf and the cable car lines. Great hot breakfast to start your day. Downsides are no pool and small rooms but I'd stay again just because of the location alone.
