Hotel Guest Reviews of the Holiday Inn Express Hampton - Coliseum Central

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The room was quiet.
The elevators need to be repaired. They closed extremely quickly. The breakfast was pretty bad, to the point where we opted ate elsewhere the second morning. The pool was very small. Good enough for kids to play in, but that's about it.

Overall, the room was nice, clean and comfortable, and that is the main thing I want in any hotel. There were a number of things that needed improvement, including the breakfast and the elevators, but given the price I paid, I really can't complain. The staff was nice enough, but were not very knowledgeable about the area when we asked about unique things to do in the area. If I was going to an event at the convention center or coliseum, it would be a good place to stay. Or if I was passing by, that would be good. The common areas could use a dress code. There were a lot of youngsters and teens that had no problem running around in their pjs at night and at breakfast. ...read more

The front desk staff were so nice, and a lot of fun joking around as well. The breakfast area was large, very nice seating.
Offer water at breakfast and more items for vegetarians/vegans

Great location, right off the highway near may shops and places to eat. Staff were so friendly, and it was nice to always have free coffee and hot tea available. Free parking which is a plus, and breakfast comes with the room - a big plus!

Loved the microwave and fridge in each room

Easy off highway location. Near shopping mall and restaurants. Breakfast was better than I thought it would be.

The room was beautiful. The free morning breakfast was great.
Housekeeping staff is awful, they yell at each other up an down the hall. They are still vacuuming at 5 in the afternoon. My room was above the drier so I heard loud buzzing at all times of the day.

Very close to the Hampton coliseum across the street from the Peninsula Town Center. If you are here for "work" there is only a small desk to work at. I would stay here again.

It was close to the destination. Breakfast was free. Conveniently close to stores and restaurants. Towels and sheets did not appear to worn and were very clean. Great having a refrigerator in the room.
Bathroom floor had not been thoroughly cleaned. Size of the room was a little cramped to have two queen size beds. I had asked for 2 queen beds with 2 rooms. Moving about was pretty tight.

It was close to the mall with variety of types of restaurants. The highway was extremely busy. Difficult to drive onto the highway. Kids enjoyed the indoor pool. We brought dvd's but there was no dvd player. Was somewhat disappointed. Was glad that the stay was not long having kids along. Not a lot of free tv stations available.

The staff was very nice,we didn't arrive until very late and had to leave very early, so for the few hours we were there we were satisfied.
