Hotel Guest Reviews of the Holiday Inn Express La Jolla

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The friendliness of the staff was awesome! Because it was my birthday, they upgraded us to a one-bedroom suite. This room was the size of an apartment! Loved being there for two days, but wish it was more like a week! Great breakfast items too.
We loved EVERYTHING!!! The grounds were very well kept, the breakfast area was very clean and tidy, and the room was extremely nice.

I'm not sure if parking would be a problem on a super busy weekend because the lot seemed small, but it seemed to have ample parking spaces while we were there. The staff couldn't be any friendlier. Coming from the LA area, we're not used to that kind of friendliness. The beach is only a short walk away, and if you want something to eat then a quick drive up the street will give you many options to choose from. This was the best Birthday weekend-getaway ever! ...read more

Rooms were spacious, with mini fridge and microwave and coffee pot. Very close to the beach, walking distance, which I loved.Breakfast was ok. Parking was complimentary.
Coffee maker could only make one cup at a time. It would be nice to have premium coffee and fresh scrambled eggs. Shower didn't really have a door, but the bathroom was still roomy.

Was a great hotel for 2 1/2 stars. I would have thought it was actually a 3. Loved the location, very close to the beach.

The hotel had excellent service, a very good free breakfast, and comfortable rooms. We will stay there again.
There was nothing we did not like. We were very content during our stay there.

This hotel had comfortable rooms, free and delicious breakfast, free parking, within walking distance to an amazing beach, and restaurants. It was a perfect hotel for our vacation. We will be going back.

Continental breakfast and location.
Should have asked for a room not next to major street, noisy and room had blinds that quite didn't cover windows.

Ask for room on second floor or higher.

The breakfast was good. The staff was helpful. The area is nice.
The room heater wasn't working properly. We asked for extra blankets. We were so cold. The next morning we asked for a portable heater. They bought one for us. They asked if we wanted to change rooms. We did. The heater didn't work it that room either.

The hotel was just okay. The staff did their best to be helpful. I really think someone isn't keeping up on the maintenance. The water took forever to get hot in the showers. The heaters didn't work in either room. We froze the first night. Was not fun. Reminded me of camping. I don't know what happened from the last time (last year) that we stayed there. Definitely not the same hotel. We will be staying in San Diego again next month. I don't think we are going to stay at this hotel again. Too much trouble for the price we paid. I really think we deserve a refund. ...read more

Great lady on the desk. Juanita?
Nope.

This is a good-value, low to mid-level hotel. Rooms are clean and fine. Showers big and clean- not tiny baths with feeble shower heads. Staff were friendly. Hotel is not cookie cutter. Has character. Good location. Very good value, altogether an uneventful, good stay.

The hotel was in a nice location, and the staff was very helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent.
The water took a lot of time getting hot, but when I mentioned it at check-out, they immediately told a maintenance person to take care of it.

It definitely met my expectations.
