Hotel Guest Reviews of the Holiday Inn New Orleans Westbank Tower
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.May 8, 2013

I booked this on priceline for New Orleans Jazz Festival end of January, now I have stayed here on hindsight would have preferred to have been more central in French quarter/ Garden district. Two of us flew in at different times so I had called in advance to ask if the Airport Shuttle dropped off at this location and was told they didn't have a Holiday Inn Shuttle but any third party shuttle would drop off, which was totally incorrect information!! I arrived at Louis Armstrong airport went up to the Go Airport Shuttle desk to be advised that they did not go to Westbank and only option was to take a taxi which cost flat fee $33 + meter + toll fee charges so cost $45 one way for trip. My friend was arriving later so had already prebooked shuttle so upon arrival told same so had to arrange a refund and take a taxi also. The hotel was basic, clean and average with a bar next door which served buffet breakfast at extra charge but was greasy and tasteless so only once not to be repeated. Taxi drivers did not want to drive to Westbank, we were turned down by several in the French Quarter before we had one agree to take us as we were two Irish girls staying at nearest hotel on Westbank so he agreed. Not a place to be walking around after dark, during the day we walked down to Wilty Terminal and took the bus to the Algiers ferry terminal which was ok. ...

we asked the front desk how much a cab was to Bourbon st. and if she'd call us one. She said it was $21 and we noticed she used her cell to call us the cab. Coming back we hailed a different cab co. (United) that used a meter & it only cost us $12.50. Call your own cab! We felt cheated that they charged us nearly twice the price for a set rate cab. The cabbie from United told us it was illegal to do set rates. Otherwise our hotel experience was great! ...

Good place to stay, clean and pretty friendly staff. Trashy outside, and some mildew problems in the hallways, but overall I would stay again for the price.
