We liked the location as it was close to what we needed.
The staff was a little rude at times. We booked for 2 nights, 2 rooms. I asked for certain accomodations and was not helped by the overwhelmed front desk person on a sold out weekend.

awesome pool and hot tub area. tables outside to sit at in front. Refrigerator in the room was nice. Our balcony overlooked the pool
Our room smelled a little like smoke, but after opening the balcony door for a few hours, the smell left. The location is alright, about a 8 minute walk to the riverwalk

The Holiday Inn Market square was really clean, the staff attentive and the pool area well kept. The only downfall is that it's a little bit of a walk to anything (i.e. restaurants in market square, riverwalk etc). Overall, great hotel for the price.

Location allowed easy access to the freeway.
Old and dirty inside the hotel room. Bathroom is outdated and dirty. Vending machines were out of order in the hallway.

Staff was indifferent and not friendly. Gave out hotel key without telling us the room number or where to go. Front desk staff was bickering over another employee. Hotel bathroom is dirty and outdated. Poorly managed hotel and poor customer service.

The guest rooms had wonderfully comfortable beds and pillows.
The front desk staff have not been trained to do more than one thing at a time. If you ask a question and another guest comes to the desk, the staff gets flustered. They are very young and could have used on-site training. The restaurant was only so-so.

Although the hotel name implies otherwise, if you need to get to downtown San Antonio, you cannot walk. They do offer a van service and you can book it to take you to town. Also, they offer pick-up service from downtown to your hotel. In addition, there is trolley service (the blue line) just 2 blocks from the hotel. I was there for a conference held at the convention center so it was inconvenient for me. Also, the city was getting ready for Fiesta and many streets and some means of public transportation were not available. Unless you are on vacation, I don't recommend being there during Fiesta. (I do recommend going there specifically for Fiesta. The River parade is great fun.) ...read more

The hotel is easy to find with a big sign by the highway. Location is great, close to the attractions.
Their breakfast is not free!!! But no staff told us!! No sign at the dinning area!!! After we sit down at the table, they gave us a bill, $11 pp for a buffet. But what kind of buffet it is? No pancake, no waffle??? Are you serious?

Save your money for breakfast at riverwalk or anywhere else. We feel fooled by the breakfast at the hotel, worst one ever... In addition, you are not able to print anything in their business center. Not recommend this hotel.

Staff was very helpful room was fairly clean but the carpet was dirty the bathtub was old,water stopper did not work,water pressure was low. 1st was given room with no hanging space,hanging bars had broken off. Next day there were no hand towels
