Homewood Suites By Hilton® Newark-Cranford

I tried to check in the 26th of April as my priceline itinery stated. I was told my reservation was for Thursday the 25th and it was for one day. I said I have my priceline receipt that shows me checking in the 26th and checking out the 28th.The hotel would not give me a room unless I paid again with a credit credit card. I became upset and refused to give a credit card to be double charged. I asked for a manager and none was on site. I asked them to call the priceline customer service number and they refused, telling me because I made the reservation with priceline it was my problem and if I wanted to stay they were going to charge me again for two nights. xxx for this room and I was not going to pay another xxx 2 when I had a receipt showing the room being paid for and me checking in on the 26th. After I called priceline ad they spoke with the front desk the made priceline pay with a seperate credit card for the two nights I was going to stay. I had driven 5 hours vfrom my home and just wanted to check in and lay down in my room. I ended up fighting for the room I ALREADY PAID FOR over 1 hour. I got to the hotel at 5:50 and did not get my room key untill after 7 oclock. Over 1 hour fighting for a room that I paid for a month previous. I could not find any fault. Plenty of parking, well secured and lit, very helpful staff, great rooms and suites, food hot and well prepared, common [public] areas comfortable, grounds well kept, close to major roads. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Homewood Suites and its staff does make you feel as if you are home.

Got more than we bargained for. Just needed somewhere close to our friend's house that we were going to for a birthday party. Wish we could have enjoyed the comfort of the room longer.

The only good thing about this hotel was the size of the room. Staff were not helpful at all, acted annoyed when you asked for something. Pool hours only during day. The room was dirty and had to request new sheets and blankets because there were stains on blanket, gross! Breakfast was nothing to write about. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
