Hotel Guest Reviews of the Horizon Casino Resort

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The view was good, which it better have been seeing I paid more for a view and the room was absolutely disgusting.
The room was disgusting. There were shoe prints on the bathroom floor as if no one had cleaned it. There was blood on the bathroom door near the doorknob. The bathroom as a whole made me feel dirtier showering in it than I did after a day on the slopes.

The View is great from the rooms that have one. Other than that, this hotel is bare minimum and not clean at all. The best they do it change the sheets, give new towels and pick up obvious trash. There were shoe prints on the bathroom floor, a patched up water-stained ceiling right below the upstairs toilet, the shower is disgusting and there was blood on the bathroom door next to the doorknob. I stayed at a Best Western in the middle of nowhere the night before and had a way better experience. Never stay at Horizon Casino Resort unless you don't care that you're bathroom will look like an old, neglected fraternity bathroom. ...read more

The staff was very nice and cordial. The maid was awesome and everyone was friendly and helpful.
There was a lot that was very disappointing about this commitment to staying for an entire week in a hotel which supposedly provided opportunities to swim in a pool. The pool was closed and both my 9 year old daughter and myself were very disappointed.

Considering the star rating this hotel received I was expecting a bell hop to be available to assist with our bags on arrival and someone to park our car after unloading it. Neither of these services were even available. Then in the room the towels and linens were not luxurious but cheap and scratchy. Concerning the pool situation I ended up putting out an extra 50 dollars a day so that we could use the facilities at one of the other casinos. This was suppose to be a fantastic spring break vacation and I was hoping to save a little cash on the room but now I wish I would have just gone with my regular reservations at the casino we ended up using the pool at. If we were staying there we would not have had to pay to use the pool, not to mention I know there rooms are furnished with luxurious towels and linens and they still employ individuals who park cars and assist with luggage.I have used price-line many times in the past and this is the first time I have been so disappointed. Due to this experience though I will not be using this service again. I feel like I wasted a week of vacation in a place I felt uncomfortable and stuck at. The star rating was so inaccurate. ...read more

Central location along the casino strip.
Deadest casino I've ever seen. Poorly-maintained rooms (upon checkin, my Mini Suite had 2 lights out, 1 unplugged lamp with a broken switch, and a missing waste basket). Poorly-stocked buffet open only Fri & Sat during ski season.

This hotel/casino is a shell of its former self. On Super Bowl weekend during the ski season, the casino (without its former sports book or casino tables) was 3/4 empty at best. The poorly-stocked buffet is open only Fri & Sat nights, and the only remaining restaurant in the building closes at 3pm daily. Even with a crowd of people in their lobby to watch the Super Bowl (and to eat and drink), management chose not to extend the restaurant's hours, even for take out. One of the 2 bars and the portable food stand was closed at halftime. There are too few workers on their housekeeping staff to adequately clean the rooms on a timely basis. Reliable sources tell me that the property had been sold a few years back, and that another sale will close in 2014 -- leaving the current management with no incentive to put any money into the hotel in their final year as the owner. My best advice is not to set foot into this property until new ownership arrives and substantially improves. ...read more

Location.
I wish that I knew that I could have had a better room at Motel 6 for less money.

Good location, but you would be better to stay at another hotel.

The casino was empty with only about 100 slot machines. Not a casino to gamble at.

Location. Just across the street from MontBleu
This place is a dirty, unclean, bankrupt, hole in the wall. Hair in the toilet and tub, torn curtains, red juice spilled on white bathroom door. Smells funny. Air malfunctions. Heat overload. No casino table games, no food at night. This place is horrible

The view.
They over charged my card incorrectly and did not charge my friends card correctly either which caused my account to be over drafted! Never again!

The room was lousy. It was more like a motel than a hotel. Won't stay there again.

The room was lousy. The rest of the hotel was great.

Kids enjoy the pool.
The employee in-charge is mean.

It's nice and enjoy the lake view and kids enjoy the pool too.

The swimming pool looked nice.
2 1/2 hour wait for our room, sun seeds on the deck lots of them, no table games.

The property is nice but it seems like they are not trying to improve or stay competitive.when you make reservations 4 months in advance you would think your reservation would be secure? but its the way t was handled no one seemed to care (1 nice man finally did ).
