Hotel Balmoral

Would defenitely recommend the Balmoral. Rooms were superior for the value in terms of furnishings, decorations and spaciousness. The terrace was an added plus to our room. Staff was well trained and very courteous. Breakfast was excellent. The ABBA chain is certaintly doing everything right.

We loved being in the city, though a bit off the beaten track... Just at the top of The Rambla Catalunya was perfect for us... a 20 minute walk to the Bario Gotico... 10 min. walk from La Pedrera (Gaudi apartment) easy bus ride to the Park Guell... etc. On Avenida Diagonal and around from Paseo de Gracia (shopping strip like 5th Ave./Madison Ave. NYC). The breakfast is vast, comfortable, and tasty... Self service though with a service feel... Clean rooms with a comfortable bed in a good location close to some of the best touristic attractions of Barcelona. Park Quell is just a bus ride (in front of hotel) and Casa Mila and Casa Battlo just a few blocks away. If the weather is good you can walk to Placa de Catalunya and La Rambla.

Hotel Balmoral exceeded our expectations! We were surprised at how nice it was (after our stay in Madrid). It was clean, quiet, beds were very comfortable (though they were twin beds pushed together and made up separately). The breakfast buffet was wonderful, only downside to that was that it was not included (13 Euro each), but for a morning when we were starving for a whole meal, it was well worth it! When we go back to Barcelona (which we will!), we will certainly be staying at Hotel Balmoral again! ...read more
