The ambience was luxurious and serene. The staff were as attentive as they possibly could have been. Guests clearly come first here.
Nothing we wouldn't overlook to come back again. Suggestions might include a fan in the bathroom, higher grade of toilet paper, improved sound barriers under the doorways and a full length mirror - or any mirror - outside of the bathroom.

We loved staying at this hotel. The ambience and amenities were superior quality. The staff treated us like royalty. The rooms and common spaces are very luxurious yet cozy. Room service was impeccable. There are great dining and café options just across the street and quick access to the freeway. No choice on non-smoking. My room smelled somewhat like stale cigarette smoke. If you are a non-smoker, this is not a good bet.

This is a beautiful new hotel, just across a walkway from a shopping area that includes several restaurants and wine bars. It is very European looking, the rooms are very nice, and the staff was more than accommodating. I would recommend this as a lovel

The Hotel Granduca is located in the Uptown Park area of Houston. Uptown Park has upscale shopping and dining. One can easily walk to Uptown Park from the hotel. The hotel also has a lovely bar area, and very nice restaurant. The rooms are nice size, well appointed, and very comfortable.

Charge to park in ordinary parking lot; no desk in room; pool not skimmed often enough.

The Granduca is a very comfortable small hotel in a nice part of the Houston sprawl. It seems to appeal to a pretentious well-off clientèle (e.g. valet parking for Aston Martins and Mercedes in a small suburban type parking lot). It claims to have the luxury of a fine European (i.e., Italian) hotel, but it comes off as mostly fake, complete with big statues and paintings of the owner's ancestral duke. The building is new (2006) and well designed, but hardly the most luxurious (e.g., no marble in bathroom, plastic tub). But the rooms are large and the salt water pool and hot tub are nice. Awesome staff. Service was impeccable! It was like we were royalty!
The food in the restaurant was too different. Reading the menu was like trying to read an unknown foreign language.

My husband and I love to travel. Houston is one of our favorite cities to visit. This is the first time we stay at the Granduca. Now, it has become my favorite place. The staff went beyond their duties to make us comfortable. We were very well pleased with our stay and plan on returning.

Friendly staff, hotel was gorgeous, hotel conveniently located in the Galleria shopping area and we ate a delicious breakfast by the pool.
We had fun.
No complaints from us!

We can't wait to go back!

Location, architecture/design, friendliness of staff, public areas.
"Kitchen" was inadequately stocked (no wine glasses/flutes or corkscrew; no serving implements).

If you are willing to pay extra for a really nice hotel in a convenient location, Granduca is great. It is for those who shun doing anything for themselves (e.g. preparing meals in their room or parking their own car).
