Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Hotel is far from entertainment if you don't get around well on foot. If you enjoy a nice walk you can save some money by staying at this hotel. It worked for us but we were caught off guard after reading the hotel reviews regarding proximity to Riverwalk. It is right on the Riverwalk but not any fun areas

Nice, clean hotel with nice staff. Parking was expensive at $13 a night and the lot was across the street and not gated. Not really within walking distance and river taxis only run until 9:00. It was a good price for the location and I would stay again.

The location is on the riverwalk but a bit removed from the central part. Not a bad walk though. Overall, an enjoyable visit with helpful staff and a pleasant atmosphere.

Apparently there is an original, larger Hotel Indigo that is in the main downtown area of San Antonio. They must have purchased this location and put alot of money into it!! They did a great job, has a 4+ star feel to things. Nice restaurant/bar area, nice patio furniture, About a mile walk along the riverwalk to the main area of restaurants/bars/shops etc... It is a very pretty, pleasant walk!! We enjoyed everything about our stay, with just a few small complaints: 1. the pool is quite small and was not heated, and 2. Parking was $13/day. I would have parked on the opposite side of a fence for just $1/day if I knew of the charge before check-out. The riverwalk it absolutely beautiful, much more than I expected. We were there just 4 days and actually never needed to drive our rental car. I used $6 of gas while there.... maybe should have just got a cab, would have saved the parking too, sometimes I am not too bright! The Alamo is literally less than 3 blocks from the "main" strip of the riverwalk, easy to walk to. This was our first trip to San Antonio and it did not disapoint. We are already planning a return trip. ...

We have stayed @ this Indigo before. We like it because it is on the less-traveled, quiet & peaceful Museum Reach portion of the Riverwalk. Pergo-ish floors, flat screens, contempo decor, square rooms, comfy beds, sheets, and pillows. Pet friendly if you take the dog along. Nice staff. If you are arriving for a one night Saturday night stay, don't pay the hotel parking fee. Instead, park on the side street between the hotel and the TV station. (Turn left when leaving the hotel cul-du-sac, and turn immediately left). There are rows of meters on each side of the street. Each row has a different colored sticker which is different maximum time and cost schedule. Either row you will only need to feed the meters during daytime hours Monday-Saturday, but one row allows you to park a maximum of 8 hours of so, instead of a couple hours max. Either row will give you free parking for Sunday, but even if you stay any other day of the week, pick the correct row of meters, feed it, avoid a tow, and still get cheaper parking than their lot across the street. IIRC a few of the meters on St Marys opposite the El Tropicano are the same way. If you are on a multiple day stay, buy a 24 hr pass instead of one way or round trip for the Rio San Antonio water taxi. The new section of the Riverwalk is a nice relaxing boat ride as an alternative to the tour on the touristy part of the Riverwalk. I avoid the tourist boat tour and take the river taxi, ride it here and there during my stay to relax. Chat up the driver for dining tips, etc. Have a drink at the nearby Havana Hotel "Ocho" or basement bar. Pricey, but good drinks and interesting vibe/decor. Acenar is our favorite margarita & upscale Mexi-cuisine. Burgers and fish tacos at The Cove, 42" pizza at Big Lou's outside of town. Tour the missions, not just the Alamo. See the zoo and museums! ...
