Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hotel Rex
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.April 23, 2013

The room was smaller and older but was to be expected since it is an older hotel in downtown San Francisco and not a newer chain hotel. In spite of that, was comfortable, had wireless internet, staff was friendly and helpful, nice TV. Couldn't really ask for more. Was able to walk to nearby restaurants, Starbucks, and transportation like trolley, sight-seeing buses, etc. Only complaint was the high cost for parking but I guess it was to be expected for location. If I wanted to avoid the parking would have probably have had to get a place on the outskirts of SF. ...

The hotel is in a great location to lots of transportation and the downtown area. The front desk staff is incredibly helpful and very friendly. And the cleaning staff is very quick and attentive as well.

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. On check-in it took 20 minutes for the much-too-cool-to-be-bothered hipster at the front counter to finish his conversation with his buddy behind the bar before he would check us in. After check-in we went to the elevator to go up to our floor.... we waited 10 minutes at the elevator before deciding to take the stairs to 6th floor. The room was tiny, right around 200 sq. ft. with shabby carpeting and furniture. On our way downstairs we found out what had taken the elevator so long, someone had pressed the HOLD button while they smoked a joint in the elevator. My girlfriend and I love coming to the city for the weekend, this was the worst hotel I've ever been in. ...
