Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hotel Romanico Palace
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Great location. We walked everywhere. Two miles to the Vatican, 1.5 miles to the Colosseum, .5 miles to Trevi Fountain, only blocks from Borghese Gardens. Great restaurants nearby as well.

Romanico Palace has a great location within Rome - Expectations comply with price - I would recommend to a friend and would go back in the future - Only issue is temperature in the room.

Location - the hotel was a bit off the beaten path, which is a major plus when staying in a busy city like Rome. The area was populated, but there definitely weren't as many tourists as there are near the Colosseum and other major attractions. Tube station is 10 minute walk away. Good eateries less than 5 minute walk away.
Staff - All staff members we interacted with were friendly and helpful. Gave great advice on where to eat near the hotel. Also gave us ice at 3 in the morning to sooth insect bites acquired near the Colosseum (be careful).
Room - The rooms was decor was a cheesy Romanesque. Still nice, relaxing, and fitting for the mood of the city. The mattress felt a bit hard at first, but was actually comfortable. Other items in the room, apart from the bed, included a large wardrobe, a desk & chair, two bedside tables, a mini balcony, mini fridge, TV, and safe. The bathroom was fairly average and included an amazing walk-in shower. Our only complaint about the room was a strong scent of mold each time we walked in. The scent seemed to be coming from the bathroom. Upon walking in the room, we opened the window and after 5-10 minutes a) the smell was aired out of the room, or b) we got used to it and didn't smell it anymore.
Hotel - Main lobby is very welcoming to the eye and gives a Romanesque feel similar to the rooms. The hotel offers a restaurant and bar; however we didn't utilize these. Breakfast is served on the hotel's top floor and was exceptional. No hot food included in the price, but offered juices, teas, and coffees, along with cereal, fruit, yogurt, pastries, bread, and deli meat. The cleaning staff were overly eager - to the point of calling our room to check if we wanted it cleaned, although we purposefully left the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door.
Overall, a wonderful hotel at a great price - especially for Rome.

The hotel is nice and the staff very helpful. It is, however, located .4 miles from the nearest metro station. Bus stop is closer but less user friendly than the subway. After walking .4 miles several times it gets old. Location.

The hotel room was attractive in the sense it was decorated and furnished with maroon and gold items, very typical for "Rome" and fun for us, tourists! So glad the front desk furnished us with map! It is easy to get turned around. We did have to walk a bit farther than we thought to catch the sightseeing bus, but still worth it. Afternoon desk clerk recommended a restaurant upon our request and we had a superb meal there (and told him so!). ...

and beds.
Not close to anything. Paid to stay in Hotel Romanico, got stuck in Hotel Veneto next door. Beds were very bad. AC sucked. Wifi was E20 for 24hrs. Breakfast was OK.
