Hotel Royal Cardinal

This hotel was somewhat I expected based on other reviews. The rooms were small as per Europe standard, but it was so small we had zero floorspace to put our suitcases down. The hotel is very old, so the walls were very thin -- we could hear our neighbors and water running, etc. This place is good if you just want a base to sitesee. Definitely not recommended for a romantic trip to Paris. Unfortunately the weather was not good when we were in Paris so we spent more time than we anticipated in the hotel room. If not for that fact, it would have been a great place to just lay our heads at night. One note if you are planning on going to Paris to party and hit up the club scene - this hotel locks the doors at 2am and you have no way of getting in. From what I understand the nightclub scene really only gets going at around 1am and goes until about 5am - so if you want to go out you may be stuck out until the hotel reopens in the morning. ...read more

We stayed just one night. The room was nice, the shower in particular was very modern. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only complaint is that it was unclear when booking that the airport shuttle was not free and is run by a separate company that services multiple hotels in Paris. It would have been cheaper and faster to take a taxi to the airport.

Very nice staff and they cared about our comfort.
