Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hotel St. Regis Detroit

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

It was very clean and the decor was timeless. It was reminiscent of the 1940's or 1950's Victorian.
The comforter was a bit strange. Come morning, the padding had moved into a lump in the corner that we couldn't move.

The staff was very friendly. Everyone we met actually seemed to be enjoying their job, which made the stay a lot more enjoyable, especially after our original plans got canceled. (We drove 300 miles + to stay at this hotel and attend a concert, which then got postponed.) The hotel itself appeared clean, as did our room. We had a king suite and the bed was amazing! Clean and comfortable. ...read more

How friendly the staff was. Especially the valet guys.
There was a banging noise every time you flushed the toilet. Assuming from the old pipes.

I loved the old historic charm this hotel had. The rooms were very nice and modern. The staff was extremely friendly. Had a typical Continental breakfast. Only downfall was that you HAD to valet park, but you could come and go as many times as you wanted for a flat rate.

The lobby was nice and the location was perfect.
The hotel needs to be better maintained.

Our stay was decent and I think the staff tried to make it nice. It was an older hotel. There were a lot of details in the room that pointed toward poor maintenance. Some things like the chair were looking really very ragged. These things do not bother me though. The room was clean and comfy. The disappointment for me was that there was no hot water for a shower. I called to the desk and I was told you have to let it run for at least 15 minutes! I let it run for that long and nothing. I let it run longer and never got hot water. Also the continental breakfast was even worse, than I expect (never have high expectations for a continental breakfast). I don't regret staying here. It met our needs. But I wouldn't recommend it to someone either. ...read more

The valet parker was very nice.
No hot water. No shampoo/conditioner. Not that it mattered without hot water. Missed wake up call. No clock in room.

Don't stay there. No hot water. No shampoo/conditioner. Not that it mattered w/out hot water I could not take a shower. I asked for a wake up call and the staff missed it. I was fortunate to make my flight. No clock in room.

Overall.

Check-in was smooth and my room was in fair condition. There were three noticeable large carpet stains upon entering my room. Also found discarded paperwork and and a phone case from a previous guest that stayed approximately two to three weeks prior. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nicely appointed. This is actually a nice hotel for a very competitive price. A contemporary look, although some things (TV) appear dated. A few minor upgrades and it's grandeur would be restored. ...read more

Very classy 1050's feel.
Housekeeping came a knocking at 8:30 thinking we were checked out.

Very nice the entire time I stayed.

Located near art museum, library, Amtrak, etc.
Breakfast was minimal.

Although the hotel is hanging on with very few guests, it is perfectly fine and met my needs.

Very nice lobby and facade.
My Internet doesn't work in my room.

The neighborhood isn't great, but the staff is friendly.
