A "genuinely interested" staff (including an "attentive" front desk) and "top-notch" food at Wolfgang Puck's adjoining Postrio restaurant are the bright lights of this "cozy" hotel in a "fabulous" Union Square location; true, it "may not have the fancy amenities" of others, and the quarters could use a "real makeover", but few quibble with the prices, which add up to a "bargain" for the area.

Wine tasting was terrific.
$45 per night for parking seemed excessive.

convenient location to my needs, but seedy surrounding area
furniture in room needed to be reupholstered, looked old, worn

Was not impressed with this hotel when I was expecting 4 star quality. Furniture in room looked worn. Parking fee was never mentioned and $45!

Worn upholstery, electrical failures, old linens, shabby interiors.

Definitely not a four or even 3 star hotel. Front desk staff was gracious but the rooms were an embarrassment. Dirty, faded, tattered upholstery, worn out furniture and old linens for high prices. Do not go there. Electrical failures, bizarre elevator transfers, rude staff that told people they had to wait for next elevator as he did not wish to get out of elevator. ...read more

It was old, tired, loud and cramped.

The Prescott may have been OK in its day. The room was tiny and loud. The restaurant was only open for breakfast ( under renovation the rest of the day/eve) and the wait staff was not well trained. There really was no lobby or place to make a quiet call. ...read more
