Hop on one of the cable cars that stop right in front of this "ideally located" Nob Hill standby where stained-glass domes adorn the lobby, rooms are "well appointed" and the "knowlegeable" staff "takes great care" of you; those who call it a "golden oldie" will be happy a post-Survey top-to-bottom renovation could liven things up (and outdate the above scores).

Clean and wonderful.

The room faced the bay. We traveled with three small children who along with us all loved the hotel! They had a nice, sleek room, with nice bedding, and cool chairs / ottomans. It was really in Nob Hill, about three long blocks uphill from Union Square but it did not even matter. The rooms were great. The doors are a bit funky and the lobby is well, unassuming, but the rooms are great and we would choose to stay there again! ...read more

Price of parking was $45.

It was very nice & comfortable. Could have been cleaner especially the bathroom. Some mold in grout. Floors not clean.

Staff graciously changed our room when I discovered we did not have a king bed.

There was no swimming pool.

The Stanford Court remains the charming hotel I recall from decades ago, even after renovations. The staff is superb.
