Convenient.
Not noise-proof.

The room was much smaller than I anticipated, but it worked because I was traveling alone. It is not handicapped friendly, or big luggage friendly, as there was no elevator. The door locks after dark, which was a little alarming initially, but was good for assuring safety. The rooms were not noise-proof, so you could hear everyone else moving and talking in the rooms next to you, but the rooms were clean and nice. ...read more

The staff was friendly.
The room was small and there was no elevator. The heat was not consistent.

The location of the hotel is good. Near restaurants and local Safe way market. Downside - the room was tiny and the provided ironing board was short, about 24-30 inches long. It is a four story walk-up, NO elevators. Request a room on the second floor. The first floor is the basement. ...read more

Location.
I've seen worse but only once.

Location is good, about 10 minutes brisk walk from White House. Nice old townhouse with great potential for B&B style lodging. But this is about all pleasantries. Room was in disrepair. Ceiling with peeling paint, sagging beds, questionable towels and bedding, bathroom in need of cleaning. Day Staff was nice but evening/night shift not only projects a great deal of not-knowledge but also I-Don't-Give-A-Damn attitude. Breakfast typical for roadside cheap motel chain. In general, not what you would expect for a fair price they charge. ...read more

The area is extremely beautiful and it's a short walk to the metro.
The beds were extremely uncomfortable.

Very nice public library/sitting area with computer access.
Our room had no individual temperature control (was next-door) and we froze. Hall carpets need replaced.

Be aware that there is no elevator and not all rooms have their own temperature controls. Library/sitting area and breakfast areas quite nice. Good breakfast variety, included in price. Attractive classic European hotel but some areas need refurbishing. ...read more

Good continental breakfast.
AC is horrible, the thermostat is in other guest room, so cannot control the room temperature or on/off.

Air conditioning is very bad, the thermostats are in other guest rooms, so we had no control over room temperature or on/off. Other guests also complained about the same. We changed room 3 times our during 5 day stay. The hotel just has 4 double rooms. Single rooms are very very small. No parking is available (busy area in DC). Wireless internet very slow. Except for a good breakfast, nothing is recommendable. ...read more
