There was an ice machine on each floor.
The rooms are greatly in need of refurbishment.

The hotel was adequate for our short stay in A-Dam. The hotel's public areas were nice enough, but the room itself was in desperate need of refurbishment. The wallpaper was peeling, carpet was peeling up, and the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. Our room faced a back street that was very noisy well into the night. ...read more

Location and
large room.
No complimentary WiFi, and the stairs in room.

Upon arrival I noticed the hotel was very clean and spacious though the facade looks dated and very understated. Typical 5 star European hotel that would be a 4 star in the U.S. room had stairs from the landing and bath to the main bedroom area. Not for elderly or limited mobility, but that could be just the rooms on one side of the hotel. Lots of nightlife near the location but the rooms were quiet. I have never felt threatened in Amsterdam and this hotel was very security conscious. Definitely would stay here again if the price is right. ...read more

Location.
Breakfast was $33 p/p, internet $35 per day.

Great location, not a great hotel. Overpriced meals and services, no free internet, exercise or other services, outrageous prices on mini bar and food.

Location.
Old, beat-up room.

Excellent location. This hotel is barely a 3-star hotel, beat-up, dark, tiny room. Saw a mouse running across the main hall on the 1st floor.

The location was good. But this is a small city.
The rooms are not updated, and have plumbing problems.

The hotel has a convenient location and the staff is very nice. However, this is a old hotel, and the rooms look old. Secondly, the bed was very small for 2 people. We requested a change several times, but were never able to get a canal view deluxe room with a bigger bed. The hotel desperately needs a makeover. ...read more

Cleanliness, location, and bed linen.
When I asked about transportation to the airport the concierge only recommended taxi. The trains run every 15 minutes at the station across the steer.
