All aboooard for this "classy" grande dame who resides in the "gorgeously restored" castlelike Union Station where towering ceilings, "tasteful" period furnishings and marble floors add a measure of style; rooms with "extremely comfortable" beds "clearly need some TLC" say some, while the "professional" staff could be more attentive, but it's conveniently close to shops, restaurants and the MetroLink public transit, so at least you don't have to eat on-site.

Beautiful lobby of the Union Station ballroom. Good location for hockey game.
Noisy fan in the room.

The Grand Ballroom of Union Station and the surrounding historical rooms makes this a more unique hotel. Rooms are clean and updated and staff is friendly and helpful. Fans are a bit noisy in the rooms but beds are very comfortable. ...read more

Beautiful lobby, very welcoming staff and front desk.
The drapes did not close in the room. Too much light could get in and didn't sleep well at all.

Wonderful stay but lack of sleep due to the drapes not closing. The inside sheer layer was closed but the heavy drapes to keep light out do not close. That was a real problem for a light sleeper. A little out of the way of the downtown but we still love this hotel and it's old beauty! It's worth the minor inconvenience. ...read more

In historic Union Station.
In depressed mall that is Union Station.

Staff was polite and effective. Hotel room had a radiator hissing and popping. Staff assured us it was being worked on during the day. After working hours it was still occurring and they offered to get us a new room. That room's fan had a vibration. They fixed our original room's radiator fairly quickly, we had an excellent night's sleep and they gave us free breakfast in the Station grille. ...read more

No fan in the bathroom, very slippery bath tub.

Beautiful lobby area, helpful staff. The room was a little small and there was no fan in the bathroom. In addition, the bathtub bottom was among the slipperiest that I have ever used, actually, I'd consider it to be dangerous. ...read more
