Despite rooms so "puny", you "can't change your mind" (much less your "black" attire), this Westsider just off Columbus Circle is still a "favorite" for its "sexy", Philippe Starck–designed "beautiful public spaces", its "excellent" bar and its location "near Lincoln Center and the Time Warner Center"; the staff ranges from "attentive" to "exceptionally unhelpful" and it's so "dark" you may "bump into every wall at least once", but "affordable" rates and an "über-trendy" scene still appeal to "the clubbing set."

The staff was quite friendly and helpful.
Rooms are very small and it is noisy.

Based on price a good deal compared to other rooms available, but the restaurant was under renovation. You will need to go out of the room to change your mind! If you are one person it may be more tolerable but don't bring more than a carry on bag into the room. ...read more

The staff was very friendly!
Room was tiny!

We stayed in a Standard Queen room. Would definitely splurge for the superior rooms. Our room was so tiny! We had to rearrange furniture just to fit our luggage in the room.

Swanky look as first impression. The library was neat.
Incredibly too dark lobby and room. The bed was so low and uncomfortable.

3 public areas were closed. The hotel was so dark it was depressing. One night the bar was closed for a private party. Didn't know it was a private party and they could've been so much more professional. ...read more

The hotel lobby is attractive.
The rooms were painfully small.

Friendly staff.
Very dark. No where to sit and read. Not even a comfy chair in the room.

The staff was very friendly and the hotel is in a good spot, near Columbus Circle. I was expecting that the room I was bidding on would at least have two beds. The one I got had only one double bed. I was traveling with a friend, so I had to upgrade in order to get a suitable room.
Very little storage space, and what there was badly thought out. The bathroom shelving was designed for giraffes! The bed was comfortable - but the room was hard (tiny, shallow metal desk with no drawers, metal chair and metal stools like toadstools) dark and stark!
All of the public areas are very dark. Imagine trying to give directions at the concierge desk. There was nowhere to sit and read, because it was too dark everywhere, even in the library.

Very avant-garde, clean, helpful staff, and centrally located.
Rooms were small, but very nice. Bathroom tiny for me, but nice shower.

Very cool place to stay. Hotel, rooms, etc. were very clean. Room was on the small side but very neatly laid out and comfortable for it's size. Bathroom was small for me but shower was nice size and neat with glass partition to see into the bedroom while you shower. Not for the timid but fun idea. Not really any restaurant at the hotel, but great room service. ...read more

Nice location, clean.
Rooms very small.

Very nice hotel. Rooms very small, bed real low to floor. Great location. Parking was real expensive, had to park across the street in public parking. Not real clear on hotel parking.
