That there were not bars on the doors to keep me from escaping.

It's not next door to the station. It's EAST about a kilometer. Go out the main door and turn LEFT, and walk till you see a little sign next to the door. The staff brings rude to a new level. The elevators don't work for guests, but do surprising well for staff. I was placed on the 6th floor with a broken ankle. The staff threw a fit when I tried to use the elevator to leave my floor (they were cleaning the floor at the time, and didn't want the elevator out of their reach), so they claimed it was broken, and laughed as I hobbled down 6 flights with a suitcase. You entered your dark Cobby by going through a closet, and therefore had two doors between you and the hall. But the elevator was on the other side of the wall, so you had comforting clanking sounds when it worked. The bed was a child's bunk, so my feet stuck over the end. I am 5feet 10inch tall. Unfortunately, the TV sat on a table at the foot of the bed, so your feet are either resting on the TV, or straddling it. While it worked as a foot warmer, it hurt when my feet smashed into it in my sleep. Beware the plumbing. It will go from tepid to scalding without notice. I have the burn marks to prove it. There is no food or drink in any form, and you are prohibited from bringing any into the hotel. When I inquired as to where I might find either, I was told that this is Paris. Find it yourself. It is clear that they only mean for short deaf people with huge leg muscles, no appetite or thirst, to sleep in their closets, and then to get the hell out. This place is all the worst you have heard of Paris and Parisians in one building. One-stop ugly for a mere 90 Euro. ...read more
