Howard Johnson Inn Executive

Overall I would stay at this hotel. Close to Tampa, close to IHOP and Perkins for food. Close to a gas station and close to shopping (2 minutes west).

Stay wasn't terribly bad but after a long day; it was a bit aggravating to have had to wait 10-15 minutes for someone to show up to check me in. Toilet did not work; I called for repair & I was told that it would take a while for maintenance to come. Older hotel with little cost paid in repairs. Roof leak repairs were noticeable. Staff was friendly.

I was very surprised to see that the hotel changed ownership in the time that I booked the reservation until we actually arrived. I was very glad to see that they honored the reservation though.

We looked at our room and the security lock did not work. Overall we were concerned with our safety so we moved to another motel and enjoyed a fine dinner and overnight. In other words, we received no value from the money we paid you. Never again will we use your reservation service. ...read more

There was construction going on and the vehicles everywhere. I'm a solo female traveler, and I don't want to say in "motels" - I don't feel they are as safe. And there was a giant cockroach (palmetto bug - apparently) on my vanity, when I got out of the shower. And the room was old, outdated, and didn't smell real good. ...read more

No way this is higher than a 1 Star.

The toilet seat was falling off, the shower curtain was falling off, and there was no toilet paper in the bathroom. This was a motel that was in need of a lot of talc.
