Best Western Winder Hotel

This had to be the all time worse experience our family has ever had at a motel. It started even before we got there with finding out 3 hours away (having made a 12 hour drive) that they had not held the 2 double rooms we had reserved. The motel tried to make up a story about calling our home (which no one was at home) and making changes for only one room. When they discovered we were not going to fall for such a story, they stuck us in a room that was not ready for guest. There was no water in the sink (neither cold or hot), then acted surprised at the fact that we wanted it fixed. We had to postpone our plans and wait for a serviceman to be called. The serviceman did get hot running water, but the cold water still didn't work. Without checking the sink further the serviceman left. We had an appointment and had to leave the room ourselves. When we returned and begin our bathroom routines, it was discovered that the sink was stopped up and did not drain at all. My husband had to call the service desk and get a plunger and fix the sink his self for us to be able to finish our bed time routine. At this point it would have been an unpleasant stay, however this was only the beginning to an un-restful night. There was such banging up above our rooms that only two of our party was able to get any sleep. After repeated calls to the front desk, they did give us a discount on one of our rooms because of the noise. However they did not stop the noise for more than 10 to 20 minutes at a time. We would have gotten more rest if we'd slept in our cars. The only redeeming fact for this motel, was the fact that the employees were very nice and friendly.
