It's lucky this hotel enjoys a choice location on Waikiki Beach "close to many restaurants and stores", since ongoing construction projects have left the "majority of in-house restaurants closed"; the "common areas need remodeling" too, but the "updated" rooms are "lovely" and feature "full kitchens" and private lanais boasting "excellent views"; a further plus is the "polite" housekeeping staff that "leaves" things "spotless."

Hotel Guest Reviews of the Waikiki Marina Resort

This hotel is great for families with small children because of the kitchenette as well as its location where it's near a lagoon and the marina.
I personally didn't like the decor, sofa and bed sheets as they are quite outdated.

My family and I had an enjoyable time staying at the Waikiki Marina Resort. The room we stayed in had a kitchenette where we cooked and prepared some of our meals and we had a nice big king sized bed. There was also a sofa bed so it's great for bigger families or a group of 4-5 people. As for the staff, they were helpful and friendly. A young man named Gary helped us check in and since I told him that we had a red eye flight going back home, he generously moved our 10am check-out to noon instead. It was also great that they were able to accommodate my request for a crib since we took our 11 month old baby. (The crib was even already in the room when we walked in!) The following day, Cristina the concierge gave us a book of discounts and she provided us a planner and some maps of Oahu. By the way, this hotel also provides the tips for the bell services! (The bell boys were also very helpful and friendly that we gave them additional tips.) This hotel is wonderfully located close to everything that we needed(ie. the beach, shopping, restaurants). Though I have already seen photos of this hotel, it was certainly a wonderful surprise to see it in person. My only complaint was that the decor, carpet, the bed sheet, the sofa bed were quite outdated but hopefully they will be updated in the near future. All in all I would recommend this hotel to family and friends and for people who are budget-conscious. It's just a standard hotel but the staff, its location and its amenities certainly made our experience in Honolulu memorable. ...read more

Only got towels everyday but did not clean and made the room.

Big room.
Elevator work, no house keeping, expensive valet, no restaurants.

Waikiki Marina Resort is a hotel inside the Ilikai hotel. The Ilikai is going through a Reno and as a result, only 2 of 4 elevators were servicing the 35 floor building. Guests at the Waikiki Marina Resort do not receive housekeeping service, only fresh towels. If you plan to rent a car, it costs $25 a night to park. In addition, all the restaurants were closed as part of the Reno. Fortunately, this is Waikiki and there are quality restaurants everywhere! Hotel rooms were spacious and well equipped with stove, fridge, microwave, plate ware and cutlery. ...read more

Impressed with the size of room and the full kitchen.

Very nice, large hotel room with full kitchen. Newly remodeled with granite countertops, bathroom and floors. Located directly on the beach. This hotel was much nicer than the rooms at the Turtle Bay Resort by Hilton. We drove around forever trying to find it under the Marina name. ...read more

Location.

AC unit outside with a bus tub to catch the water. The beds were old, and had springs nearly sticking through them.

Centrally located without the hustle and bustle of Waikiki.
The check in on the 2nd floor.

Overall good. The room was phenomenal. Could use a flat screen and should have WiFi.

The room was very nice.
No bath tub, construction going on and very loud all day. No room service. Pool area needs remodeling.

Hotel is very old and lobby/common areas need remodeling. Pool area is not inviting at all. The rooms have been remodeled and are very nice. All comforts are addressed in the room except there is no bath tub. ...read more
