Solo Traveler
This hotel has a potential. One desperately needed amenity is to replace the existing elevators which are too small for the guests and their luggage. Another attraction which the overseas guests expect is either a complimentary continental breakfast or the regular one. Solo Traveler
The Hotel Carlton has a great location. It is very near to a metro stop, Atocha and you can walk in about 10 minutes to three of Madrid’s best museums: Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen. However, the street noise is very load if you are a light sleeper. My aunt, who is a heavy sleeper, did not mind the noise, but since I am a light sleeper I found it very difficult to sleep and ended up tossing and turning all night. Do request a room that does not face the street if you are a light sleeper. Even with the shutter closed, I could still hear the cars driving by. Traveling as Couple
Hotels in Europe vary so much! When I walked into the hotel, the lobby was very clean and the staff was very cheerful. All of my room requests were accommodated.
