Charing Cross has very attractive public areas, and comfortable, quiet rooms. Hot water was unreliable, and 2 out of 5 days we had luke warm to cool showers. Housekeeper was asked daily for extra towels, soap, etc. Toilet paper roll was left completely empty one day, there was a lack of attention to detail one would expect at a 4 star hotel. In my opinion there are two things that must be first rate; the bed and the bathroom. Here the bathroom was excellent, new, modern and stylish as was the rest of the room but the beds, like a bag of marbles. I had to sleep on a single mattress on the floor in my junior suite as the double (which was two singles crudely zipped together) was far too uncomfortable to sleep on. ...read more

Family with Teens
Our first trip to the UK. This hotel was much the same as every thing else in the country. Way over priced at least in relation to the US. But once you you except sticker shock, the hotel was very clean, old, but well maintained. Its location was exceelent for sites of interest, transport, shopping, and dining alternatives.
