Super 8 Motel - Defuniak Springs

It was clean, comfortable and well kept.

Hotel was average. AC didn't seem to be working properly. There were not too many choices for dining in the area.

I was very unhappy with my stay at this hotel also the air-condition units were turned off after each guest so the rooms were very warm and took a long time to cool down if it ever did. The units were also very loud in the room. This hotel should not even be rated a 1 star.

I have stayed on the beach with beach access in places like Dayton, Sarasota, etc., for the same amount of money. They also were very clean, this one wasn't. I had a little trouble regarding booking my reservation but the night desk clerk took very good care of me and made necessary accommodations for me, that was good. Also, it appeared to me, that this particular hotel has high employee turn over being as the lady who did help me did not have adequate training nor any obvious back up help. Good thing that she has a lot of common sense and can think on her feet, that was impressive. Overall, I think this hotel is over priced, unclean and understaffed. If they could improve on the cleanliness and train the employees so that they are more effective then the price for a night stay would be more in line with what they have to offer, otherwise they may want to think about lowering the rates to fit what they do have to offer, which is not very much. ...read more
