Was there less than 10 hours, thankfully. Facility is "dated". Bathroom bleak and dreary. Staff failed to provide my wake-up call. Thank God the alarm clock worked. A wake-up call is a standard request in the hotel industry. To fail at this is abominable and the only response I got at the front counter was "oh, that's not good; I'm sorry madam". Not good enough. This hotel is drab and dreary and does not appear clean. They offer no amenities in the lobby i.e., coffee, tea, etc. Maid service came at 9:45am and when told to come back in 15 mines. Never came back to clean the room. Believe they did not speak any English therefore didn't understand the request. Also, upon checking out another person there reported to the front desk that their vehicle had been broken into during the night and the police were called. Good location. However we were stuck in charlotte rush hour traffic and it took us 1 hour to go 15 miles. Will probably look for a hotel south of charlotte next year.

Excellent choice for anyone coming to the lake Norman. Met all my expectations for the star rating, except food offerings.

This is a terrible hotel. Old fixtures that seemed out of place smudges on the rug with burn marks. Marks on door frame and some walls. Warehouse type doors and frames. Stained table chair. God awful smell. Very loud AC. No ventilation what soever including a non-working bathroom vent. The bed seemed dirty with very old sheets that were very thin and itchy. Everything was very nice. The only thing was that one morning we were not out of our room when the cleaning staff was there and when we left the room they never came back to clean it.

We have stayed there three times now and it is very satisfactory consistently: friendly, clean, many amenities in room, including refrigerator and microwave.
