"Gorgeous, serene and peaceful" wax nostalgics over this "elegant" Kohala Coast resort on 15 oceanfront acres that recently completed a $50-million renovation (possibly outdating some of the above scores); it manages to be both "romantic and child-friendly", with three "spectacularly beautiful pools" (the "kids' pool is a winner"), a new Mandara spa, a redesigned restaurant and "plenty of space to spread out"; rooms, now equipped with WiFi, feature "modern" Polynesian/Asian decor with shoji screens and soft lighting, the chain's new 'Revive' bed with designer duvets and flat-screen TVs.

Beautiful setting with great beach access and easy snorkeling and turtle viewings too.
The restaurant food was only mediocre for a nice resort.
We were very pleased with our 6-night stay at the Waikoloa Marriott Beach Resort. The grounds are very beautiful and clean, with a stunning view of the ocean and an amazing sunset every day. The 3 pools were a bit cooler than we'd liked, but great for both adults and children. The towel surface and the beach water-sport both were very convenient and well used. It was great that we were provided with a microwave in the room upon request for no extra charge. It made heating up left overs and foods for the kids so much more convenient. ...read more

Beautiful setting, and easy beach access.
Dirty patio, and dirty bed linen on check in.
Lovely hotel with leisurely atmosphere. A number of pools and ocean access providing variety to guests. Staff was welcoming and efficient at addressing concerns.
