Hilo Seaside Hotel

Hotel is located very close to the airport. In the description they say they have 2 types of rooms garden view and ocean front but in reality there is no ocean front for the hotel there is a small pond which is very poorly maintained & there is no garden but strip of some plants. I have stated at both the Nani Loa and Uncle Billy's. The Hilo Seaside is the ONLY place I will stay when in Hilo from now on. Based upon my experience here, when I next go to Maui, I will stay at their property there as well. ...read more

Like the local, home like feeling.

Very friendly and laid-back staff typical of Hilo. Comfortable open-air lobby area overlooking large well-kept car pond. 45-minute walk to downtown. Inconvenient without a car. Multiple small flights of stairs can make moving baggage difficult. ...read more

Hotel was clean. Good bed. Very friendly staff. Kind of small and dreary, but a good value for the price.

In my experience, many hotels by oceans have a different level of cleanliness. With that in mind, plus the low price, I wasn't expecting much more than a place to stay that was close to the airport after a long day of flying from the East Coast mainland. The rooms were small but clean enough and had fridge, AC, Cable. The staff was friendly and helpful and the common areas were quite charming, even featuring handmade traditional Hawaiian quilts as decor in hallways. Beautiful location, rooms are clean, friendly staff, restaurant food well prepared and reasonably priced,has convenient laundry facility, very close to the airport, reasonably priced.
