One of the oldest major hotels in Las Vegas, this "down-to-earth" 50-plus-year-old veteran that's "seen better days" still manages to please some who like the "well-priced", "spacious" rooms; but a significant portion of patrons has a "bad experience" here, noting "claustrophobic", "dated" digs, "belligerent" staffers and "terrible" food.

For the price it was great. Room was better than I thought it would be.
Valet was always full.

The Riviera is perfect for those who plan to not stay most of their trip in the hotel. It provided us with our basic needs: Bed, bathroom, and TV. We had money to spend on actual activities by not wasting it on a expensive hotel. The slot machines pay off here. ...read more

The room made me not want to leave the hotel.
Service checking in and out was kind of lacking in friendliness.

Reasonably priced and recently remodeled rooms.
Old hotel/casino, long waits for check-in, away from the main strip.

This hotel reminds me of how Vegas would have been in the 60's. With all the new hotels being built, this one waits for its turn to be imploded and replaced. There was not enough parking in the garage to accommodate the guest nor was the valet parking open. The rooms are remodeled but the casino, the entertainment and the rest of the hotel is out of the past. ...read more

Good location on the strip near convention center.
Very dated hotel mildly maintained but unimproved in a long time.

The room had no coffee maker, no tissue, few TV channels and WiFi costs $10 per day. Parking and check in was confusing and hard to find. Friday and Saturday we had a very hard time finding parking upon returning for the night. I did see bellman while we were there but couldn't find them when checking in. ...read more
