Eastgate Tower combines the charm of residential Murray Hill with the convenience of midtown Manhattan. It is a modern yet peaceful setting with close proximity to corporate offices, Grand Central Station, the United Nations and popular shopping. A small lobby with a geometrically patterned banquette and contemporary art welcomes guests to this comfortable hotel, which was built in the 1970's as an apartment house. U.N. personnel, banking and brokerage professionals, families and those with long term assignments in the city are among the guest who appreciate the extra space and cooking facilities. The largest accommodations I've had so far in NYC for this price.

This is the second time I've stayed here, the first time I was satisfied, the room was 1/4 of size of the one I stayed in this week. It's the luck of the draw when we're bidding as far as that goes but both were well worth the gamble; the kitchen is my favorite since I am a very finicky eater and like to buy my own food. ...read more

The room was very large and the staff very friendly.
We had no towels at all (had to call for them), and it's a little pricey for what you get.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel because of the great location near Grand Central Station. However, even though the room was very large, it is pretty old and warn-out. Also, we had to call to have towels brought to our room because there were none of any sort in the bathroom or the kitchen. ...read more

Hotel is very near to visiting places like Empire State Building, Time Square, Top of the Tock & Grand Central Station.
I don't like this hotel. Very old building and room services is not good.

Basically, I don't like this hotel.

Large room with couch, kitchen.
Internet was $13.95 extra.

Room was larger than expected. A little on the older side for decor, but it was comfortable enough. Delay at check in because their server was down, but they said this had never happened before. Worst part was that they did not mention up front that internet was nearly $14, so that was a bitter surprise at check out. ...read more

Large rooms, kitchen in room and was
close to Grand central.
Age shows a little bit.

Very good hotel for the money, staff friendly and helpful. More amenities then you'd normally find in NYC.

It's on a quiet-enough block that a 3rd floor room was quiet.
Toilet was not operating properly when we checked in.

It's a great deal for the money in Manhattan. It's close enough to Grand Central to get you anywhere, although we walked everywhere. Safe area. You get what you pay for. Spending my own money, I would return. ...read more

The size of the room. It was clean. The location was great.
Dirty elevators.

I would stay here again. I feel it was good for the price.
