Welcome to the Eastgate Tower Hotel

Eastgate Tower combines the charm of residential Murray Hill with the convenience of midtown Manhattan. It is a modern yet peaceful setting with close proximity to corporate offices, Grand Central Station, the United Nations and popular shopping. A small lobby with a geometrically patterned banquette and contemporary art welcomes guests to this comfortable hotel, which was built in the 1970's as an apartment house. U.N. personnel, banking and brokerage professionals, families and those with long term assignments in the city are among the guest who appreciate the extra space and cooking facilities. The hotel's lively Restaurant, II Sogno, features a large patio for elegant open air dining. Midtown Manhattan, Residential Murray Hill Eastside ...read more

Location and size of rooms.
Furniture.

The hotel is very conveniently located near grand central station. Suites are great for a group of people on a party weekend. Very convenient to have a fridge and a kitchen.

Priced right good location and access to everything nearby.

The price was right for the location and everything was just a short walk away, eg restaurants, drug store, etc.

We asked for an extra blanket and they told us they didn't have any - it seems fairly ridiculous that a hotel wouldn't have an extra blanket.

The staff was really friendly and courteous.
Just needs a bit of renovation in certain areas. Great hotel though!

Fun place located right where you want to be.
A bit of a walk to the attractions, but a great hotel with very nice courteous staff.

Location.

Eastgate Hotel appears that it was an apartment building that was converted to a hotel. Room was spacious with a small kitchenette which can be useful. The room and furnishings were dingy, spartan, and dated, but not dirty - in fact, it was very clean. Some city noise, after all, it is New York City. If you are looking for a modestly priced midtown hotel and aren't worried about impressing someone with a huge lobby or decor, this is a good choice. ...read more

The largest accommodations I've had so far in NYC for this price.

This is the second time I've stayed here, the first time I was satisfied, the room was 1/4 of size of the one I stayed in this week. It's the luck of the draw when we're bidding as far as that goes but both were well worth the gamble; the kitchen is my favorite since I am a very finicky eater and like to buy my own food. ...read more

The room was very large and the staff very friendly.
We had no towels at all (had to call for them), and it's a little pricey for what you get.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel because of the great location near Grand Central Station. However, even though the room was very large, it is pretty old and warn-out. Also, we had to call to have towels brought to our room because there were none of any sort in the bathroom or the kitchen. ...read more

Hotel is very near to visiting places like Empire State Building, Time Square, Top of the Tock & Grand Central Station.
I don't like this hotel. Very old building and room services is not good.

Basically, I don't like this hotel.
