Rooms Service Dining Facil. Cost

"Superior customer service" defines this outpost, where a "friendly" staff and "extremely fast room service" plus customer-focused amenities like the ability to "print boarding passes" from the lobby make "a difference"; you can expect a "great" exercise room and pool, "well-kept" rooms with "wonderful beds" and a "cool, modern" lounge with "views" "overlooking the city, Soldier Field and Lake Michigan"; just keep in mind, the "out-of-the-way" convention center location means it's "not the most convenient for sightseeing" and "zillions of conventioneers pass through."

I could stay on 32nd floor!
The fan always works, so when I was taking shower, I was so cold.

The room is big and the big hair dryer is very useful!

Nothing.
We feel fraud by them telling us one price then charging more!

We have traveled most of the world and this was the worst place we have stayed.

The rooms were quiet.

Had a very pleasant 2 night stay on the 21st floor. Parking was easy, check in was simple and check out was quick. All the hotel employees were very nice and helpful. The room was quiet and the beds were so comfortable. ...read more

Restaurant was good.
Room was dusty and full of hairs.

Hotel staff needs to clean rooms better, but public places are clean and elegant.

Absolutely the best front desk.
Nothing.

I travel 320+ nights a year in hotels, am 200,000 mile member. I am also a Hyatt Platinum Member and there is a reason; this chain is the best at what they do and Hyatt McCormick Hotel and their staff is another level. Clerk at the front desk is an 11 on a scale of 1-10. Another clerk and his fellow bartender are the creme de le creme. I had a suite at this hotel (front desk clerk was kind enough to accommodate and locate a room for our heavy business work load) and as far as suites go, remarkable. What can I say negative about this hotel? Only that it is a little away from downtown (not bad at all), but they have a free shuttle and it is only a $10 cab ride to anywhere. I have graded hundreds of hotels and this is the first time I have given 10's across the board. The hotel and its amenities were fantastic but it was the customer service that pushed me to the straight 10 mark. If anyone gives this hotel less than a 9, don't believe them. Check for yourself. Worth every penny. ...read more

It was very updated with a good view of Lake Michigan.
Some services were decreased due to slow season.

Overall, a very modern hotel at an excellent price. Beds were uncomfortable for my husband and I. We were also charged to make local calls (which we didn't know about). Also, some services and hotel restaurants were closed for the week due to it being the slow season. However, overall we were pleased with the hotel and our stay. ...read more

The room was large and spacious.
The bathroom was not as luxurious as more modern hotels.

The plus for this Hyatt is that it has huge rooms. There was room for two small beds, a bathroom, an area for the desk and a couch with a side chair and coffee table. The bedroom is separated from the couch and work area by a television and book stand. The location was near where I needed to be for an interview so it was convenient for me. It was snowing and below zero Celsius when I visited so the parking seemed kind of far (my locks also froze). Once inside though the lobby feels warm and inviting. There is a restaurant which is kind of in the middle of the lobby. They have a nice fireplace in the deeper recesses of the restaurant. There's also a bar. The workout area was nice and stocked with Tennis magazine which was a huge plus for me since I'm a tennis fanatic. Mats for sit-ups, some machines, free weights up to 50 lbs. The downside is that the hotel is not new. The bathrooms in particular are the older "motel" style with the sink open to the rest of the room. The shower head isn't anything to write home about either unfortunately. Also, the Internet is not free but $10/day for T-mobile Hot Spot. The beds were comfortable although one of the double beds is directly under/in the line of the a/c--heater which could be uncomfortable for that person. ...read more
