Back in the '40s, "Bugsy Siegel started it all here" at what's now an "old Strip standard", still known for the "flamingos, penguins and fish ponds" dotting the grounds; while it's a "classic" with history, it's only recent renovations that elevate this beyond what some describe as a "60s-era third-world hostel", so make sure you get one of the redone rooms with liberal splashes of pink, cuttinge-edge baths and 42-inch, flat-panel TVs, then head to the new topless pool (ladies get in free, men pay a cover charge).

My wife and I were married at the Flamingo in 2001 and my son was married there this week.

The staff goes out of their way to make everyone feel special. We asked for rooms on the same floor and told them about the wedding. Outstanding service! I have probably stayed at the Flamingo 10 times through the years. I have stayed at many other hotels there and the MGM has been the only one close in hospitality. From this day forward, it will only be the Flamingo. ...read more

We were upgraded to a suite. The room was great!
The check in process was extremely slow.

Overall very nice... I would stay there again. The location was perfect and the rooms were clean. The only negative was how slow the check in was.

Flamingo.
Somewhat run-down room.

I liked the casino / casino area. The dealers weren't very knowledgeable and the rooms were run down. The flamingo theme was pretty cool and the staff was helpful. The casino is in a great location.

Cleaner than I was lead to believe by reviews.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Flamingo. Contrary to reviews I had read, everything was neat and clean. The front desk staff was pleasant and friendly and the checkout was effortless. It is an older hotel and this showed in places. As I was leaving, I told myself: I'll stay here again. ...read more

Central location, nice gardens/surrounding area, not too smoky in casino, and a friendly staff.
Hotel is older and rooms need refurbishing especially the bathroom.

The Flamingo hotel is in an excellent, central location and good for the average traveler as the hotel was not too ostentatious. Buffet restaurant was in a nice setting with a fair variety for meals. The hotel has old-time character. ...read more
