Loyalists "love the wake-up call service" that includes a "tray with hot chocolate, coffee or tea" at this Oak Brook spot 16 miles from Chicago, and they're also keen on the "convenience to shopping" at the nearby mall and the "beautiful", newly renovated rooms with "high-end bedding"; other pluses include a "great rooftop pool", free parking and decent dining, but techies tut "Internet should be included."

Location.
Housekeeping didn't always do a good job.

Can't beat the location and the staff was very helpful. The rooms are plain, but comfortable. Room service provides good food and service. I would not pay full price for this room, but is well worth the amount I paid. Will be staying there again next month. ...read more

The location was great - right next to lots of shopping.
No hot tub and no continental breakfast, coffee in the lounge ran out.`

The hotel was clean and neat, but a hotel of only 3 or 3 1/2 stars would have more to offer like indoor pool and hot tub, a free breakfast, and more. My friends and I were disappointed.

The room lay-out.
Our room stank of air freshener.

The hotel was very good. Some of front desk staff knew very little about the area. One of them was very loud and sounded very forced. Otherwise, they were helpful and pleasant. Our room was so heavily sprayed with air freshener that we had to complain about it. it triggered an asthma attack. They came to inspect and said, yes, it's air freshener. But the next day, the smell was still fairly strong. These days hotels shouldn't be spraying toxic chemicals around their rooms. Also they replaced our towels every day even though we hung them up and were happy to use them again, to save on hot water. They didn't seem ecologically savvy. But the overall feel of the place was very pleasant and clean. The location was not very convenient for us as we have a relative in IL who is no where near any hotels. So we had a 1/2 hour drive every day to see her. ...read more

Front desk clerk was very friendly and accommodating. Close to attraction.
Nothing.

This hotel was perfect for its proximity to the Oak Brook Mall. Staff was friendly and rooms were comfortable.

The location.
The hotel is not a 4 star hotel by any means.

Our room was tiny and not 4 star quality. I asked to be moved to a different room or to the Marriott across the street.

Location was perfect for shopping - room was very nice, too.
The room temperature was VERY warm. We tried to turn down the thermostat, but it didn't make much difference.

This hotel is the perfect place to stay if you are going on a shopping trip to Oakbrook. It is well within walking distance from the Center. The hotel staff was VERY welcoming and accomodating. They called The Cheesecake Factory to make a reservation for us and also provided complimentary hot cocoa, coffee & scones in the morning. Beds were comfortable and linens were good quality. Flat screen TV, new decor. Room temp was very warm and we had trouble lowering the temp. Had to sleep with blankets off due to warm room. Overall, we had a nice stay, though, and felt the price we paid on Priceline provided an excellent value for us. ...read more

Extremely close location to outstanding shopping and dining.
Bed was uncomfortbale.

Nice property but for a Renaissance Hotel I was disappointed. Outdated bathroom, uncomfortable beds and tiny lobby.

Hotel staff was very
pleasant.
Small rooms.

The outside of the building is old and in need of a face lift. Rooms are very small, but very clean. The staff was excellent and accommodating.
