Starhotel Michelangelo

It looks much run down on the outside. Our first night, we had no water pressure or hot water. The staff fixed it though fairly fast. The next morning the shower would not work, (again staff fixed it while we were out on the town) had to take a shower in a room 2 floors down in a disgusting looking room, thank god we didn't stay in that room. The hotel is located steps away from the Vatican. We had a wonderful room with a view of St. Peters. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. The staff was friendly. Station Pizza is located down the street and they have excellent pizza! ...read more

Okay location for Vatican tours, otherwise, not where you want to be for nightlife or restaurants. Most, but not all staff was accommodating. Rooms need repainting and refurbishing. No four stars. Barely a three. ...read more

This hotel is just seconds away from the Vatican and St Peter¿s basilica -- a great location on any count. The hotel is very clean and "modern" compared to its peers around the city.

Although rated a 4 star, it felt much more like a 1 or 2 stars. Overall, I would not recommend it. First, the rooms which have not yet been remodeled are the worst I have ever stayed in. beds are tiny, with board hard mattresses and pillows that are small, thin and hard. Our first night there was horrible. On our second and third nights, we moved to recently renovated rooms where the beds, while still tiny, were at least more comfortable. Pillows were better too. The shower/bathtubs are so small, they border on dangerous for anyone 5' 10" or taller. They really tried hard to please and we were very happy with the staff there. ...read more

This is a very pricy hotel with a 2.5 star level at most.

We just checked in for one evening as we flew in at 5:30 and left the next morning at 9:00 so I can't say what the amenities were but the staff was informative and helpful and the breakfast buffet in the morning was very nice. Although the hotel was rated 4 stars, the comfort level did not rise above 3. Most notable was the hard mattress and lack of air conditioning in the room.
