A "fabulous" $52-million renovation, completed in early 2008, "preserved the opulence and beauty of this classic property", from the Italian Renaissance chandeliers in the "stunning lobby" to the rooms you can "just sink into"; guests also benefit from a "perfect location" near the White House and "first-rate" service that leaves most "feeling a bit spoiled"; N.B. the new Adour restaurant by Alain Ducasse opened post-Survey.

Hotel was very clean and beautifully decorated. Shower was excellent!
Did not like the view from the room we had.
The St. Regis was a beautiful hotel. It was exceptionally clean and wonderfully decorated, but not too frou-frou. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Will stay there again.
