Kalama River Inn

Although I did not expect much from this budget priced motel, it fell below the 8.0 average guests rating. The desk clerk was very unfriendly. The cute office dog almost made up for the clerk until a local stopped by and sent the little dog into a barking fit. The a/c in our room did not function as well as it should have. The bathroom mirror appears to have been placed at Bigfoot height. My friend and I had to stand on our tiptoes to use it. All that we could be chalked up to a local motel in a small town. But when we found a partially consumed soda in the refrigerator, we became very concerned with the overall upkeep and cleanliness of this establishment. If you drive through Kalama, it is definitely worth while to stop in at the laundry mat/espresso shop/lunch counter just behind the Kalama River Inn. This hotel was worth the money that I put out for it. I only paid $49 per night, so I did not expect it to be like the Hilton or anything like that. However, if I ever go that way again I would definitely stay somewhere else, even if I had to pay more money. I made a decision that if I am going to put out the money to pay for a vacation that I am going to factor in a little extra money for a nicer motel.
