Family with Teens
We were impressed with the huge, 3 storey cabin and were pleased that we were able to get into the cabin before the 4 PM
expected time. The water park was a bit disappointing. It looks a little run down and smaller than we expected. They provide towels at the park, but they are very old and the size of a hand towel. Fortunately, we brought our own towels for everyone. There was a lot of chemical in the air too and we all experienced burning, red eyes. There's really little for an adult to do besides float around the small lazy river a few times. We also fell prey to kids aiming at passer-bye with a water gun in the center island. That was enough for us adults. We left and got a cup of coffee. I found the amusement area small, dark and rather run-down looking. There were only 3 rides that were appropriate for kids over the age of 10. Fortunately, there were so few kids in the amusement area, they were able to ride these rides over and over again. There are also lots of cheesy arcade games to play. The prizes are ridiculous though. For over 500 tickets, kids can win a 50 cent ball or 2 cent plastic teeth. Overall,an okay diversion, but not that great. ...read more

This is a great family get away. The villas & cabins are huge and would be a great spot for a family reunion. There is an outdoor bar open in the summer that offers an escape from all of the family fun. ...read more

Hotel was nice and close to Starved rock. Had a nice indoor water park. We booked the whirlpool suite and the water in the whirlpool and shower smelled like fish. So we did not even want to use the whirlpool. Staff was friendly, lots of stuff for kids to do. Had a fun miniature golf course. ...read more

The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. The room prices always include the water park which is great for those who want the water park and are traveling with families. For those who just want a room, I would recommend finding another (less expensive) option. With all the families there and little kids running around it really does not make a great hotel for a romantic getaway. ...read more

I stayed in far superior rooms. I travel often and the Holiday in is more comfortable than this hotel. The bed made a ton of noise, it was uncomfortable and I woke up with a sore back, I could hear the people above my room when they would walk and at 3:00 am I was woken by the people next to me taking a shower because I could hear their shower as if they were showering in my room. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, the room was extremely small, they didn't have anything open inside the hotel for breakfast, lunch or dinner! I was extremely dissatisfied with this hotel. ...read more
