Hotel Blake Chicago

This hotel was acceptable, but not a 3.5-star level. Even after several requests, the internet never worked, and after telling the front desk our thermostat box buzzed loudly, I borrowed their tape to tape it to the wall. Mildew in the shower. This hotel was perfectly located on Printer's Row, the rooms nicely appointed, comfortable pillows and down comforters on the beds were nice, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.

The Blake Hotel was in a nice location and inexpensive. The room, including the bathroom, was rather small, but if you aren't planning on being in the room, a great place to stay.

The Hotel Blake, is a very attractive smaller hotel. The furniture and room could use some paint, as the furniture had many chips. The carpet on the stairs outside our room was repaired with duct tape. The Bell hops were extremely rude, not very friendly and generally not helpful, when I complained at the front desk,

This has been four different brands in the past 20 years and I've stayed at each version. The rooms seem spruced up a bit, but nothing ostentatious. Nice touches include Ipod ready radio and actual eye friendly incandescent lamps. Close to Harold Washington library and South Loop businesses. ...read more
