Hotel Information
This small, family-run hotel is beautifully situated within 7 acres of mature gardens and woodlands, in a secluded position within a national scenic area near the Solway coast.Between the villages of Rockcliffe and Kippford, Clonyard is set in south west Scotland, 4 miles south from Dalbeattie on A710. During your stay you can explore the numerous small villages which are dotted about the countryside, each with its own individual charm, or pay a visit to the country town of Kirkcudbright which is well known in art circles for its historical connections with the 'Glasgow Boys'.The Thompson family who have owned the Clonyard for over 35 years spent many years prior to this in East Africa. This affinity to that continent can still be seen around the hotel.

The hotel houses a comfortable lounge bar offering a wide selection of ales and whiskies; an informal restaurant and bar which serve meals every day; and an interesting selection of wines from around the world.
