Utica is a run down city so there really isn't any real super hotels, so this hotel is very good considering other choices and considering safety.

depressing.
The hotel is extremely outdated, old and dirty. the carpet in the room was old and dirty. The good points are - no bed bugs, free wireless and the bed was comfortable.

Rooms were spacious and clean. Front desk pleasant and accommodating. There is a restaurant in the hotel which was very good. Super waitstaff, good food, and also inexpensive, too. Only bad thing is the restaurant manager was not very nice. He was turning people that wanted to eat dinner away around 9 pm. (even though the signs stated it was open until 10 pm.) Several people (including us) were told that the restaurant was open until 10, all the signs say it is open until 10, but he sent the staff home early, so there was no one to cook. The rooms are outdated and old.
Restaurant was convient. Location is convient to doing business in Utica. Hotel staff was not responsive to needs that I had. I would not stay there again.

Room needed updating. Overall this hotel is fair, not great, not bad. Location is good. It is indicative of the overall quality of the Holiday Inn Chain. Wingate is better in Rome and Radisson is better in Utica. ...read more
